[Feb-24-2011]
Charleston, W. Va. – House Speaker Rick Thompson and Acting Senate President Jeff Kessler today announced that Charleston attorney Nick Casey has been elected by the members of the West Virginia Democratic Legislative Council to serve as their General Chairman.
“We are thrilled that Nick has agreed to chair the DLC,” Thompson said. “He brings a strong understanding of the legislative process and of what it takes to be a successful member of the legislature.”
The West Virginia Democratic Legislative Council is the campaign committee for Democrats in the state Legislature. The DLC works to help members be successful legislators and to run effective, modern campaigns.
“As a former chairman of the West Virginia Democratic Party, Nick has helped candidates from the United States Senate to city council to run successful campaigns,” Kessler said. “I know that he will be a tremendous resource for our members.”
Casey, who is the managing member of the Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins law firm in Charleston, has extensive experience in business and government relations.
“Our Democratic legislators have made many tough choices to move our state forward,” Casey said. “I welcome the opportunity they have lent me to spread the message of their hard work for West Virginia.”
